I have spent the past 15 years immersed in the fields of science and medicine, building expertise in both research and clinical subject matter. Throughout my training, I developed a strong ability to analyze complex subjects and translate them into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences. I find great satisfaction in working with others to explore new topics and in making technical material accessible, understandable, and useful. My successes have stemmed from diligence, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Consulting allows me to continue learning while helping others navigate scientific and medical challenges with clarity and confidence.

My consulting journey began as a scientific advisor for a law firm in St. Louis, where I provided research discovery support, medical chart review, and expert communication for litigation involving a complex fungal infection at a local hospital. This rewarding experience spurred me to pursue a consulting practice that offers specialized support to a wider range of clients. 

My foundation in science began in the laboratory of Thomas E. Johnson, where I investigated the role of genetics in aging and age-related muscle loss. I later became a certified nurse aide, caring for patients in a long-term care facility ranging in age from 19 to 98; it was an experience that strengthened my communication skills and deepened my understanding of patient care. From there, I moved to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, working first in Wallace Chick’s lab, studying stem cell genetics and stress resistance, and later in Sean Colgan’s lab, where I focused on mucosal inflammation, host–microbe interactions, and inflammatory bowel disease.

I went on to complete the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, earning both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in molecular biology, with a focus on microbiology, antibiotic potentiation, and preclinical drug development. During my Ph.D., I founded Primer Pharmaceuticals Corp., a biotech startup dedicated to developing small-molecule antibiotic adjuvants. This work included licensing drug-screening technology I developed at the university and leading a preclinical drug development program since 2022. Along the way, I have written numerous grants, raised capital, and served as an ad hoc reviewer for an NIH NIAID SBIR study section.

My diverse background, spanning laboratory research, clinical care, consulting, and biotech entrepreneurship, gives me a unique perspective and skill set. I specialize in bridging complex scientific concepts, supporting discovery, and delivering clear, effective communication tailored to a wide range of projects and audiences.
